THE PEEPERS ARE PEEPIN' !

BADGER soon to lamb!

DEVILDOG's fleece, NICE!
The greenhouse is filling up with starts for the summer season. We can hardly fit another tray! The Shetland ewe Badger is close to lambing as well as Ruby, my Cormo/romney girl. January, the little winter hatched chick, turned out to be a hen! The sheep were shorn 2 weeks ago and I've been working on preparing their fleeces for show and sale and some for my private stash. Devildogs fleece seems to be the front runner, but every fleece was spectacular! Checkout my SHETLAND SHEEP sale page & products page.

New chick has hatched!

It's January but low & behold the Partridge Rock hen has hatched a chick! Setting through all the snow & ice! The photo  is Billy the vet listening to her eggs last Febuary when she attempted to hatch eggs but failed. We wondered if her Febuary setting was predicting an early spring. We had one! We're hoping setting in January is predicting an even earlier one. Below is the new chick just starting to peck it's way out.

FLEECE, FLEECE, FLEECE, CAN'T WAIT TILL MARCH !

Here's Devildog (  http://www.mtn-niche.net/NASSA/nassa_pedigree.php?pregno=S31219), Cow-Cows ram lamb 2010. What a fleece! Copper down to the skin. Really unusual color, single coated like his mother. I should have hand sheared him in march as his wool was so clean. But I wanted to see how long it would get. The neck wool has since taken a beating, full of hay. He has his coat on though so lots of clean wool underneath.
